The Friendly Church on the Corner
Evergreen Lutheran Church & Preschool
Located in beautiful Seabeck WA. We serve the greater Kitsap and Mason County areas.
Our church was a church plant by Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton October 12, 1980. We started having services in the library of Seabeck Elementary School. Groundbreaking for the church building occurred on June 17, 1984. Construction under supervision of Woodcraft of Seattle with volunteer labor from the members. Our "friendly church on the corner" now has grown since those early days! We serve many families and have grown to be a thriving congregation of all ages with a Preschool too. Preschool established in Jan. 1995. We are excited to see what the next 40 years brings us.

Senior Pastor
Hi, I'm Pastor Dave, Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm from Aberdeen, WA, where I was born and raised. The oldest of 5 children adopted by my grandparents, it was a huge blessing to be raised by grandparents who had a unique view on how to raise children. With a summer home on Hood Canal, I could not have asked for more. Growing up I never ever wanted to be a pastor but an aeronautical engineer designing space shuttles and more. But here I am today, pastor of such a wonderful, loving congregation. After almost 39 years of being a pastor, I truly appreciate my time here at Evergreen Lutheran. Favorite Bible verse would be … I don’t have one. I do have a ton of them, depending on what’s going on in all of our lives that day.
Favorite quote, however, has never changed. It’s from Francis of Assisi … “Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.”

Church SecretaryI was born in Seattle but came to live with my adoptive parents when I was 7 weeks old. I grew up in the Tracyton area, graduating from Central Kitsap High School and Olympic College. My husband Bob and I have lived in Seabeck for over 40 years. We have been part of Evergreen Lutheran for nearly that long. I joined the staff at Evergreen Lutheran Church and Preschool as the only teacher in 1996 and later added the duties of Director. After 20 years, I retired from the preschool and became the church secretary. I love being part of the Evergreen Lutheran Church and Preschool family. Bob and I have a son who lives in Idaho with his wife and 3 children. We enjoy visiting them and watching all 5 play various sports like soccer, volleyball, lacrosse and swim team as often as possible.
My favorite verse: [Jesus said] “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b
